GDPR Compliance & Your Rights

Eventu is operated by RiDiscovery Pvt. Ltd., registered at 309, Unique Square, Singanpor, Katargam, Surat, Gujarat, India - 395004. For the purposes of the GDPR, RiDiscovery Pvt. Ltd. is the data controller responsible for your personal information, even though we are based outside the EEA/UK.

Eventu is primarily built for users in India, but the app is accessible worldwide, including to users in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland. Where we knowingly offer the Service to individuals in these regions, GDPR and UK GDPR protections apply to your personal data regardless of where our servers are located.

You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to request that we correct inaccurate data, and to request that we delete your data where it is no longer needed or where you withdraw consent. You also have the right to restrict how we process your data in certain circumstances, to receive a copy of your data in a portable format, and to object to processing based on our legitimate interests. Where our processing relies on your consent, such as enabling contact sync, you may withdraw that consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.

Some information Eventu collects, such as dietary restrictions and allergy information submitted as part of an RSVP, may be considered special category data under Article 9 of the GDPR, since it can relate to health. We only collect this information when you or a host chooses to submit it as part of the RSVP process, and it is used solely for event planning purposes by the relevant host. By submitting this information, you provide your explicit consent to its processing for that purpose, which you may withdraw at any time by contacting us.

We process your data based on the performance of our contract with you (to provide the core Service), your consent (for optional features such as contact sync or special category data), our legitimate interests (such as maintaining security), and, where applicable, our legal obligations. Eventu's infrastructure is hosted on AWS in the Mumbai, India region, which means your data is transferred outside the EEA/UK when you use the Service. India does not currently hold an EU adequacy decision, so this transfer relies on your explicit consent to our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use at the point you create an account, as permitted under Article 49(1)(a) GDPR. We are working toward more robust long-term transfer safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses, and this page will be updated once those are formally in place.

To exercise any of the rights described above, email us at ridiscovery.official@gmail.com with the subject line "GDPR Request," specifying which right you would like to exercise. We may ask you to verify your identity before processing your request, to ensure we don't disclose or delete data belonging to someone else. We will respond within one month of receiving a verified request, extendable by a further two months for complex requests, in which case we will explain the delay to you.

If you believe we have not handled your personal data in accordance with GDPR or UK GDPR, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the data protection supervisory authority in your country of residence, place of work, or the place of the alleged infringement, in addition to contacting us directly.

RiDiscovery Pvt. Ltd. does not currently have a formally appointed representative within the EU or UK, as required under Article 27 GDPR for controllers outside the EEA offering services to EU data subjects. All requests and inquiries should be directed to RiDiscovery Pvt. Ltd. directly using the contact details below, and we will handle them from India.
